TDE-200 with users using KX-TDA0350 IP Softphones.
What I would like is for the system to answer and present incoming callers with prompts "For Bob press 1, Sue press 2, etc." and then have that call ring Bob's or Sue's softphone for a few seconds, then transfer to an outside line (their respective cell #s) if they don't answer.
This works fine as long as the softphones are up, I simply set up an ICD and FWDed it to 9+number and then set their softphones to FWD B/NA to that ICD number. Problem is these users have laptops and when they are not in the office, their computer is not in the office and their softphone is not running. So what happens is when the caller presses 1 for Bob they get told "Incorrect entry" and cycled back to the prompt.
I thought I was being clever and I set up two ICDs, with the user's real extension set to "ring" and the ICD that is FWDed to the outside line set to "delayed ring." The system accepted that, but it would never send to that other ICD. Looks like the ICD member extensions can only be wired extensions or mobile stations, not other ICDs.
Surely someone has solved this problem before. It doesn't seem like too outrageous of a request. I simply want to be able to FWD an extensions to an outside line even when that extensions is disabled.
Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
