Forwarding mail without being an open relay 1

Howzit.

Some of my users have left the UK and gone off to Spain to check on some production stuff and they need to recieve their UK email. I have added the spanish address to the forwarding address in the UK names.nsf but it is not working. They recieve mail sent directly to Spain but mail sent to the UK address is not being forwarded. We are not linked to the Spanish domain in any way or form.

We had an open relay problem some time ago and changes were made to the server config document.

Should i be checking the server config document to get this problem fixed or should i create some sort of agent?

Sorry for the daft question but it has got me stumped.

When you added the forwarding address in the person document, did you change the Mail System to Other Internet Mail?
This will effectively reroute mail and there will be no copy in their "UK mail database". If they need a copy in the UK, I think it will have to be done with an agent, unfortunatley, you will need to create an agent on each database.

Hi,

You don't have to open relay for that matter. Sometimes while controling outgoing mail messages you tend to control

Make sure that you enter the name of the spanish domain in your SMTP outbound settings.

Putting the forwarding address in the forwarding address field should then send it accross to the Spanish Domain.

Let, If you can share the Error message that will be great helo in sorting this out.

I was sure the SMTP settings were correct but I forgot the mail system to Other Internet Mail?
