I have a CS1000E at Release 6.

Call comes in to extension A. It is not answered.
Forwards no answer to extension B. It is not answered.
Forwards no answer to extension C. Staff sees and hears extension C ringing but when she goes to pick it up, it is just dead air. Extension C appears as a SCR only on key 3 of a 3904 set.

This has just started occuring since we upgraded to Release 6 just before Christmas. It was working fine on 4.5.

I may not have provided sufficient info so please let me know.

thanks.

I am somewhat suspcious that the caller actually waited on the line for the time it took to reach extn C.

Have you performed this test by calling Extn A and waiting until it reached C to see if she could hear you?

It may be that the trunk is not releasing when the calling party has already hung up. Look at the Trunk Routes to see what NEDC and FEDC are set to.

did you go IP when you went 6? Did you add DSPs? could be lots of reasons.

dead air could be a dsp issue if you are running IP

setup the same thing in the same cabinet, or same card (DLC) and see if it works. that way you avoid using DSPs

This switch is actually a hybrid - both digital and IP sets. This issue occurs on the digital sets.

NEDC and FEDC are both set to ETH.

I will post back results of my calling tests. Have to coordinate with user.

thanks.

CS1000e uses IP between loop/shelf

If set a and b are in one loop/shelf and set c is another could still be a dsp problem.

try moving all to same loop/shelf

Fire group A and B.Then move all the people in the C group to the A group and your customer will be so happy when their call gets answered on the first ring. I normally hang up if the person I'm calling doesn't answer on the 4th ring.
Just my opinion... (Gene eluded to it, I just said it...)
