I have a mailbox which is set to forward incomming messages to a DL.

This works fine for internal senders.

For external senders the email is delivered to the mailbox but doesn't get forwarded by the DL.

external messages sent to the DL don't get delivered, internal do.

The DL is set to receive emails from any sender.

Any ideas?

..shot in a dark...
-check the Exchange General->Delivery restriction for the mailbox that does the forwarding.
-ensure that DL has an SMTP address.

Can you internally send en mail to that mailbox (not the DL) and see if it then fowards to DL

All the best!

Thanks for getting back to me.

I ended up recreating the mailbox, not ideal.

Delivery restrictions were OK, and SMTP addresses existed. I could send email to mailbox which forwarded to DL and it worked fine.

great, glad to hear you got it worked out.
Exchange boxes are really something else....
All the best!
