I have an Exchange 5.5 server which is functionaing fine apart from the following issue. I have a number of users that have both internal and external E Mail addresses (G MAIL). I would like to take their E Mail which is delivered to the exchange server and forwarded it to their external G Mail accounts.

I have tried to create another user with an external SMTP address for each external account but this mail is never routed.

I am slowly going insane so please can someone help.

Many Thanks in advance.

First create a new Custom recipient for that persons external account (file, new custom recipient, internet address within Exchange Administrator)and give this the external address details. Then go to the internal mailbox and select the Delivery Options tab - at the bottom you have Alternate recipient, here pickup the new custom recipient you created above. Decide if you wnat the mail to go to both internal and external mailbox and select accordingly. Finally unless you want this newly created custom recipient visible on the GAL - make it hidden.
