Can anyone please tell me how to enable exchange 2k to forward an exchange 2k users email to hotmail etc. ? thanks a lot.. please give me a step by step instruction. I am kind of new to e2k.. thanks again..

The easiest way to do this is through Active directory.
OPen active directory users and computers then select the user account that you want to forward email from.

Can't remeber the exact name of the tab i think its exchange general you should have a screen with 3 buttons one of them lets you specify an account to forward mail to it also has a check box to stop it going into the main mailbox if required

Yes it is the General tab but I just tried to do what you are trying to accomplish and I only get the option to forward to another exchange account,no ability to type in an address you have to browse for the account.

Am I missing something?

try setting up a contact i think if you right click on users in AD users and computers you should get the option to create a contact (custom recipent) set this up and give it the hotmail email address then you should be able to go back to the general tab of the exchange user and add the new custom recipent as the address to forward to.

This new custom recipent will appear in your address list you can hide this custom recipent if need be!

Hope this helps

That worked thanks for the reply.
I just created a contact and gave it a SMTP external address and then went to the Exchange General tab/Delivery options/Forwarding.
