I have a customer who has a Lucent Legend. He wants to be able to forward lines to another number (his cell phone). Is there anyway to forward lines on the Legend? He does not want to pay for call forwarding through his carrier.

He can forward an extention(s) - not a line

Yes, but he can make an extension the Principal User of the lines for Forwarding and Coverage.

From the WinSPM programming interface you first need to turn on "Remote Foward Allow" for the user's extention. Instructions that follow will be for using the WinSPM running under Windows 2000 or XP. You can use the System Programming Console if you know how to program that way. The command sequence is the same.
From the SPM Main Menu
Menu: Select Function
click on Sys Program
click Exit
at System Programming> Make a selection
click on Extensions
Extensons> Make a selection click the More button
then click on Remote Frwd
type in the extension number: then click Enter
This will allow the inside extension to be forward to an external telephone number.
The way my system is setup you will need to go to the extension and dial the Foward feature code, the dial-out code and the outside number you want to forward to followed by the # sign.
The feature code for "Forward" to outside is #33 plus the dial-out code plus the number to forward to plus #
Here is an example #33 919881234#
When someone calls the extension it will dial the dial-out code then the number
To cancel the "Foward" from the fowarded extension dial #33 extension number #
You can program a button on the extension to dial the feature code, then you can just dial the dial-out code and the outside number you want to forward to followed by the #
To cancel the "Foward" from the fowarded extension dial press the programmed buton and the extension number plus #

I know this ramble on but I am a self-taught Merlin Legend driver.

In addition to the above you need to make sure the lines affected have Reliable Disconnect enabled, and allow TRUNK-TO-TRUNK on those stations affected or the calls will NOT forward. That is because in effect the system is bridging two lines/trunks together in order to make the forwarding external feature work.

Its not really funny the other things you forget that you did to get something working fully. Thanks guys for the rest of story. Here is another tip I have learned if you have someone in the office that does secondary coverage you can delay the call forward long enogh for them to grab it if they want to or they can let it go call forward
Delayed Call Forwarding Rings. Number of rings (0-9) before a call is forwarded using the Forward or Follow Me feature.

From the WinSPM programming interface or System programming console.
System Programming> Make a selection
click on Extensions
Extensons> Make a selection click the More button
then click on Delay Frwd
type in the extension number: then click Enter
Enter Delay Rings (0-9)
enter the number of rings then click Enter
You can do it from WinSPM Quick Access
Telephone Restrictions: select extension to program Read
General tab>Delayed Call Forwarding Rings.
You can also set the Remote Call Forwarding and Allow Trunk-to-Trunk Transfers here also. Its much easier in Quick Access than at the Programming Console but who wants easy all the time.
Thanks to all who have contributed here.
