Hello,

We have a BCM 450.

We have an employee who is taking a medical leave and I am having a bit of difficulty with the forwarding. We would like callers to be forwarded to another person in the department however, I don't want the calls to be routed back to the original employee's voice mail if no one is available to pick up the call.

It would be ideal if the there is no pick up at all, then the voice mail of the replacement employee would pick up. Is that possible?

Thanks in advance, I know this is probably a super simple fix, I'm just swamped with emergencies!

If they have a DID then you can take it off the employee on leave and program it as Ring only on the replacement extension. If not, that is the way it works with an extension forwarding to another extension. The VM always goes back to the original extensions mailbox. You can also delete the mailbox for the employee on leave and that way it will end up in the General Mailbox.

Hi, my homey Darren figured it out:

In voice mail administration I deleted the mailbox for the employee on leave then assigned that extension as an Alternate Extension for the employee replacing.

Thanks!

Good job. Yeah for your homey.
