I have an IPO server edition with a 500v2 as expansion for PRI. When I set a users forward unconditional to an external number I get number busy.

See trace below.

I have user 8060 forwarded to 0863848527. I dial 8060 from user 5120. Trace is from the 500v2 box and phones are 1608 registered on the server.

I can dial 90863848527 directly from any user no problem.

DISA... We like to use only one number from different phones.

Present foreign numbers... We like to see the caller's number with twinned and forwarded calls to see who is calling and to be able to call back. We also like to use different providers at the same time and send always the same number. We also like to overflow outbound calls over SCNed systems but send the number of the trunk connected to the users home IPO...

Ich liebe bratwurst mit heisse curry, eine gutes bier und eine shöne jungfrau, but really, any telecom system made in germany was a bat out of hell.
I have done Siemens from Hicom 100 upto 130, Hicom 300, Hipath, I have done DeTeWe, Bosch/Tenovis and some other german brands, forgot the name.
They all worked but sometimes it seemed to be more luck as knowledge it did work at all, the programming interface was at least unworkable, the documents were very complete but unreadable ( 23 books of 500 pages each only for the maintenance of the Hicom 300! anothe row for installation ).
I always liked to work on them until I did my first Avaya install, what a relief was that, amazing that it could be done properly...
I wll not mention the japanese/korean/french/israelic systems I worked with. They don't have proper docs, are more or less stolen from the germans and often only half compatible with the general standards. Must be a language problem I guess.

Nebertheless, the germans are unbeatable in building big, complex machines. Best in the world, really. Building a robot which can make the same move over a million times with a precision of less then 0,001 mm difference is realy amazing, I like that kind of skills.

Sorry, i am going a bit offtopic.

thanks for the star zoomatomic, I give one to intrigrant as I thought I just clarify his post a bit more when he mentioned the caller ID
I know that in the US there are a lot of providers (most of them actually) that will not allow you to send random caller ID's but only the ones that you actually own as DID and some of the providers will allow you to send a caller ID that goes in going out again. That is a tricky thing. I can send anything I like and love it.
I do the same thing on my SIP trunks and fool family and friends with it sometimes. Not ever would I use it to do something illegal or malicious but some people may so it will probably end in the near future.

DISA is great guys but a security hole that has to be done properly. I don't like calling customers from my cell any more as they take advantage of it and call me directly (remember I am just an employee in a mid size telecom company) at all hours of the day and night. I have stopped answering every phone call when I am not working and can't identify the number.

I have a smart phone ad out of hours it will only ring if a caller is in the family group of contacts, every other caller will get busy and I never enable voicemail as is I enable it I spend two hours a day listening to them.
We have a service number at the office they should call to.

Nice touch there Westi! [thumbsup2]

Speaking of French, according to The ETSI forwarding the A-number may be available in any ISDN network in Europe.
They've named it CLIP Special Arrangements, but it's probably marketed under many different names.
(We call it Trunk Billing, much like what Florian describes, and Forced Number Presentation).

Trunk Billing opens all gates, you may even send your name.
The other is partially screened, so you can't send governmental numbers or Toll charged (unless you own that particular number)

It would actually be helpful to know what this service is called around the globe, so please post it here and I'll put it in a FAQ.

My deepest sympathies to our French members!
Je suis Charlie!

Kind regards

Gunnar

German has many expressions adopted from the English

I was surprised how much even my mother uses that. She used the word roundabout instead of the German word Kreisverkehr and so do a lot of people.
I like the FNE options for the DISA that makes sure you call from your cell or at least you know the number.

We call it just only in English. Ther is no German expression for that feature.
