Just a quick question on options for having unattended phones forwarding calls to voicemail in terms of which feature to assign to buttons on phones.

I have a Norstar ICS 7.0 and Callpilot. Is there any difference and advantages/disadvantages between putting a phone in "do not disturb" mode versus using F984 to forward the calls to the call pilot?

The phones are in a hunt group. Would that make a difference on how either feature would handle calls when they are activated?

not sure if it would, but both ways gets you to the voicemail if programmed with cfno to voicemail port. wondering if all calls would go to voicemail when f984 is on with a hunt group

I'll have to test it out. For most of the phones it really doesn't matter, but there's a phone where the extension is assigned to a teleworker that never answers the phone but looks at it's indicator for messages when they come in (or checks remotely). The phone is in a central location where it also acts as a ringer to let people know a call is coming into the hunt group and someone walking by might pick up the hunt call. I would like to have it not ring when the extension is dialed but have it ring when a call goes to the hunt group its in.

DND requires that CFB point to voice mail DN and "BUSY ON DND = Y". Sometimes this is not practical, especially if the phone receives incoming calls.

F984 does not.

You are too greedy for this too happen, you need to give something to get another.
You are best to get the sales rep off that phone or get another phone.

-Have their mailbox do Off Prem Notify to their mobile device (you add up to 5 numbers).
-Change the associated DN of the reps mailbox to NONE in F983
-Change the DN of that phone so its not associated with the sales rep any longer.

-In Hunt Group settings make HGXXX Appear and Ring at that set.
-In Sets Line Access set the amount of Intercoms to 0

When you call HGXXX
When you do F4 - calls to HGXXX will ignore the Call Forward
When you do F984 - it will be ignored and ring the set on the HG key
When you do F85 - it will ring in the callers ear but the set will not ring, it will then drop to mailbox based on CFNA setting.

When you call the DN
When you do F4 - calls to HGXXX will ignore the Call Forward
When you do F984 - it will be ignored and ring the set on the HG key
When you do F85 - it will ring in the callers ear but the set will not ring, it will then endlessly as there needs to be an Intercom key on the set for CFNA to work.
