new to this forum so you may have to excuse my ignorance.
i am trying to set a ddi to ring a virtual user or unused extension which goes straight to vm. i configured the user attrib with vsf_access on, preset Forward N/A unconditional all to vm station group but the call just rings out. what am i missing?
thanks

(Disclaimer: I am not a phone technician, I just like to tinker with stuff I shouldn't)

The way I set this up is:

I have my VSF group set to 625

I set up a circular Station Group 630 that we use for after hours messages.

I have the overflow timer set to 0 seconds and the overflow destination set to STA/NET or Hunt 625.

I also have VSF Wait Station set to the station that I want the message icon to be displayed on (in my case 107).

I went one step further and configured station 107 to email the voice messages to a shared mailbox.

When we receive a call after hours there is no ring. It goes straight to the voicemail box then emails the message to our shared mailbox.

Because all messages are listened to via our email server, each day I bulk clear the messages on station 107 using the Phonetage client.

We are receiving approximately 50 messsages per evening with around 30-60 minutes worth of audio. See my other thread to see the problem I am having with some voice messages glitching to cause the iPECS system to think it is full.

using this method can i have an individual message just for the hunt group?

Yes, the message is given and you are just herafter forwarded to voice mail (VSF). In some s/w versions there should be one menber in the group to make this stunt. I normally use an analogue extension that is not cabeled to avoid ringing and that someone picks up by accident.
Test & report back svp.

Is it possible to have the night messages end up in the same message box as the day messages but whilst retaining different day and night greetings?

Do I need to set up another call group identical to the first with a different "VSF wait station" set to a different extension with a different outgoing message? or is there a better way to do this where the night messages end up in the same voicemail box as the day messages?

My set up is:

I have an ACD group which I would like to be answered by a voicemail if not answered after 20sec.

Currently I have set PGM190/191 group 659 as VSF VM Group. and set acd group 620 "Overflow destination" to "659", "Overflow timer" to "20" and "VSF Wait Station" to "102" which is the voicemail box with the outgoing message set.

Is this the recommended way to do this?
How would I vary which outgoing message is heard according to day/night rules?

I would prefer if at night, the phones didn't go straight to night voicemail, I would prefer the ACD group to still ring before going to voicemail.

thanks,
Oli.
