Can someone please tell me if Norstar Compact ICS is capable of forwarding to an outside line? Like an answering service aftwer hours for instance. If this is possible, how do you go about setting that up?

Thank you much!!

it depends on release "to do a simple forward"need to invoke routing and redirect to do a ...call redirect is available on all releases....volume drop usually a major issue on copper to copper transfer/forwards and conference calls

It's usually cleaner to order call forwarding from telco on the 'main number' and use that. And generally that will forward more than one call at a time, too.

We have voicemail pickup lines at night with a choice to leave a message or press 1 to speak to the night service.

If you can stand for a few minute delay, you can set up a voice mail box and turn on outcall notification. This will allow you to tell the caller to leave name and number and someone will call back within 5-10 minutes. We have done the Dest/Route programming to route to a cell phone. In one case it worked great over PRI, in the second case the cell phone users could not talk to the caller. Go figure. DB loss is the norm. If you have lousy lines coming in, you double it coming in and going out.
