I want to set up an address on the server- operations@domain.com, and when a mail is sent to that one address it is forwarded to several recipients on the same server, user1@domain.com, user2@domain.com etc, but also several external addresses, user1@external1.com, user1@external2.com etc
Is it possible to get exchange to do all of this automatically please?

thanks for any help ya all

BenC

It is possible.

Create a distribution list with the email address operations@domain.com then add the internal addresses you wish to receive the email. For external addresses you can use a custom recipient.

There's another way to do this if you want an actual to keep track of all the Email coming into operations@domain.com in a single location or to be able to reply to it as operations@domain.com.

Here's how:

1 - Setup a distribution list for all of the addresses (internal and external) you want to forward all mail coming into this mailbox to. As Grenage mentioned, you would use Custom Recipients to create pointers to external E-mail addresses.

2 - In the Exchange Admin tool, go to properties of the mailbox operations@domain.com and select the 'Delivery Options' tab.

3 - Under 'Alternate Recipient' select the distribution list you just setup. You can choose to have the Email also stored in the operations@domain mailbox by checking the 'Deliver mail to both recipient and alternate recipient' checkbox.

Hope this helps!

In the Exchange administrator program if you go to FILE\NEW CUSTOM RECIPIENT then specify email address and enter the details
