forward mail address to another email

hi..does anyone know how to forward a email address to another smtp address..or a good document..i know how to do it in exchange 5.5, but can't figure it out in exchange 2000..thanks

You need to create a contact with a SMTP address and then forward to it.

I tried that and it works...the only thing is that i would like the actual mailbox and the forward address to recieve the mail...thanks in advance

If you've already created a contact with a SMTP address then all you need to do is goto the user account in AD and select the 'Exchange General' tab. Now, select Delivery Options. Under 'forwarding address' select 'forward to', than select the 'Modify' button to search for the contact you created. Lastly, make sure you select the box that states 'Deliver messages to both forwarding address and mailbox'
