Forward huntgroup to mailbox 1

Hi,
When a whole department is out of the office I want to be able to set call forward onto their mailbox. I believe if I set an extension as the primary one for a huntgroup then on that phone Call forward to the mailbox it should send all calls to that huntgroup to the mailbox.
My problem is I don't know how to set an extension as the primary for a huntgroup?
Any help you can provide would be greatfully received.

Have you tried making it the overflow ext. and taking it out the hunt group.

Unfortunately that doesn't work.
The other extensions in the huntgroup just ring instead.

How do the calls get to that dept (DID)?

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Pardon my ignorance if I have miss-understood.
The department uses a Direct Dial number that then points to a huntgroup consisting of a number of extensions.

This is something else I tried:
#Select Custom Call routing from left menu
#Select CCR table for huntgroup
#Click Change
#Set Phone number to the primary extension for that huntgroup
#On the phone of the primary extension press Feature + 4 (Call forward) then forward to answerphone

However when we tried to phone the Direct dial number, only the one (primary) phone rang.

create a vm box with the Hunt Group DN

you can then create an after hour ccr tree just to transfer to that HG mailbox.

Am I right in thinking that that would rely on normal business hours?
We want to be able to set the out of hours manually on the phone whenever the department is on a training day (or more likely down the pub)

Ok this may be too simplistic but keep hunt group as is.

Have 1 extension on huntgroup but also with ring only target line assignment.

This way when you forward the extension to voicemail that DID will go directly to the voicemailbox of the set.

Only downside is if the user of the extension wishes to forward calls to voicemail other than the DID number.

Please post your final solution when you find it.
