We have several Hunt Groups configured.
The Main number comes into the Main Hunt Group.
So, if the reception department are in a meeting, we need to forward the calls to Main Hunt Group, to another Hunt Group. How would I go about this? To make things complicated, the Hunt Group in which they forward to wouldn't always be the same.

I already have a Hunt Group call Regular, which includes everyone, and this is set as a fallback group for the out of Service mode on the Main Hunt Group. A button has then been set up, so the Department Manager can push the button, and all the calls are then diverted to Everyone whilst they are in the meeting.
I am now told that they need to be able to choose which Hunt Group the calls go to, and it will not always be the same. ie one day it may be Purchasing, the next day it might be accounts.

So where do I go now from what I've already got configured?

Cheers

Best way depends on the type of handset, how many are in the "Main" reception group, ring type of that group.. amonngst other things :)

We use the 5420 handsets here. there are 6 users in the Main Hunt Group, but there are 11 other Hunt Groups, all with Collective calling.
The calls need to be diverted to any one of these 11 hunt groups at the touch of the corresponding button on the handset.

With Collective you are snookered for selecting destination manually via buttons, if the Reception group was sequential you could use forwarding and enter the number upon button press.

If you have Soft Console/Phone Manager you could have a group with a phantom user in as the fallback destination for the Main group, and use SC/Phone Manager to change the phantom users forwarding destination :)

Well we don't have Soft Console, but we do use Phone Manager.

That does kinda make sense.

So basically, once setup, we would need to put the Main Hunt Group in Out of Service, login to the Phantom User on Phone Manager and set the forward unconditional to the Hunt Group number in which we want the calls to go to.

Yes it would work, but like you said not simple if you need to run of into a meeting.

I've had another thought, but its flipping complicated, so I need to play with it first to see if it would work. I'll Let you know.

Thanks!

Do you have voicemail pro?

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

What software version are you on?

You could use generic actions which put some or all groups in to night service.
Then you can also use a variable for checking the state of a group and route a call based on that.

Variable routing in VM. Then you just put it into night and set up a menu where they choose the group which sets a variable. Test the variable once it hits the leave mail and transfer where ever they want.

Interesting. I've not come across variable routing before. I'll look into it, how to set it up etc and see where I get.

Cheers for the suggestion!

Rider90, copy this in wordpad and save it as GroupStatus.mod

Then import it and see how it is build.
The generic action does a "get" for group called "Main"

You need to use group names, numbers do not work!!!

OK done that, can see it.

So this is a little bit above me, so bare with me.

So at the moment, when the Main group is put into Night Mode (via a configured button), it goes to the Leave function which simply plays a looped recording which says the office is now closed.

But Now, they will need to press the night Mode button, and then select either 1,2,3 ect to decide which hunt group the calls are forwarded onto.

Am I right?

No, you are wrong.

Go to the incoming call route.
Route the DDI to VM:GroupStatus (or whatever name you give to it)
Then on the phone set buttons for nightservice and or out of service for that group.
the 14,16 and 9600 phone can have a status button for this.

Then when you put the group in to night service and a call goes trhough the module then there is a check is it is 1(normal service), 2(nightservice) or 0(out of service)
You can put in every destination you want for the transfer actions you want.
You can also put in other actions if you like.

I see i made it in Dutch so here the translations for the transfer actions.

Buiten bedrijf -> Out of service
In bedrijf -> In service
Nachtstand -> Night service

OK I think I get it.

Unless I'm still being thick, how would this allow the reception department when they go into a meeting, set which hunt group the calls are forwarded onto? On one occasion it could be accounts, but on other days it could be purchasing, or sales ect?

The Reception department is the Main hunt group.

Make another group with everybody in it.
Then with Softconsole ( i assume you have it) enable the users, who need the calls, in the group.
But then you do not need the module anymore, you then better put that group in to the night service.

Yea we dont have Soft Console :( we've got Phone Manager, although I dont think that will et us do it.
