Forward fax number to another fax number??

Good morning, all. I am wondering if it's possible to forward one fax number to another temporarily. We are moving a bunch of people in the office and I would like to temporarily forward a fax number to another fax machine in the interim.

I am working with an S8700.

Yes, you can just use call-forwarding

Where do I setup the call fowarding?? I thought for sure there was a field in the station form but I don't see it.

Do a display cos and check which COS has "console permissions"

assign this cos to your station

Do a display feature-access-codes and check for the Call forward all FAC eg *24

then from your station Dial "FAC" xxxx yyyy, xxxx is the fax you want to call forward and yyyy is the destination fax

You can also create a new coverage path to the second fax machine; when the move is complete just remove the coverage path.

I think creating a new coverage path sounds like the easiest way to accomplish my temporary goal.

I am still learning, so please forgive my elementary questions.

Here are my questions:

1. The first thing I'm asked to do is assign a coverage path number, but what is an easy to see a list of all of the current coverage paths so I know which number to use?

2. Creating new coverage path - I assume "Next Path Number" is where the new extension goes, right??

3. For the Coverage Criteria, should I just leave all of the defaults? Here are the defaults:

Station/Group Status Inside Call Outside Call
Active? n n
Busy? y y
Don't Answer? y y # of rings - 2
All? n n
DND/SAC/Goto Cover? y y

4. Do I need to put anything in the Point1 - Point6 fields?

Do it this way.

Add coverage path next (this uses the lowest available number)

Change coverage all to y for Inside and outside calls

For Point 1, use the number of the fax that you want to take the calls


Then change station xxxx (fax number to be forwarded)
put in the coverage path assigned above.
