When a caller calls in and asks for a specific type of support, we want to automatically forard them to an external #.

For instance, if they want extension 330, I want all of those calls to go to (813)xxx-xxxx.

How can I do this?

I tried Forward no answer and it works fine, but rings the phone twice first. Also, that eliminates the ability to go to voicemail for that extension.

Is there any way to do it without losing that extensions voicemail and without first "ringing" that extension?

Thanks

Lance.

you can manually forward all calls of 330 to the external number

you'll need to a build a route with trunks, dest code to access to route

feature 4, destination code, external number OK

Make that path an external forward off of the voice mail.

You could "front end" your calls with Auto Att. that says If you want support "A" press 1, if you want support "B" press 2. Then have your CCR tree external transfer to the proper number.

you can set external call forwarding from phones by using feature 4 BUT you have to forward thru a destination code. by that you can either create a new destination code like senkls is advising or create a destination code of 9 instead of a pool access code of 9.

Since you are looking to forward to a specific number you could do like I did with the companies cell phones. I made destination code 455 absorb all digits, use route 455 and dial out the complete cell number NNX XXXX Works great and even the people in the office can now get his cell with just dialing 455

I have tried what jerryreeve has suggested but when I go to the set and try to set Fwd No Answer, etc., it only lets me select internal numbers that are handsets and not the new "virtual" DN that I created to route to my cell phone. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Don’t know what you mean by virtual DN.
Routes and destination codes are in a specific area of the system programming. If you have not gone in and set that up, its not going to work.

Routes and dest codes are not something that an end-user typically sets up. It usually requires vendor support

Forgive me as I'm still new at this. Here is what I've done and what I'm trying to do:

Our System Version is SP: 30JsH03 NAT

Under Routing Services I have set Route 722 to dial out to my cell phone using Pool A.

I have created Destination Code 722 (the same number for simplicity) that says Normal:722, AbsorbLength is set to all, and there are no schedules set.

When I go into Terminals and Sets, I go to my set (22), then capabilities, Fwd no answer, and try to change to 722 but it will not allow me to. By the way, it will only accept a two-digit code at this point.

Here is what I want to be able to set up:
When and external call comes in to our secretary, let's say she forwards it to me at extension 22. If I don't answer after two or three rings, I want the phone to automatically forward to my cell phone which was defined under destination code 722. What am I missing here? Thanks.

To forward a call externally you must as bk says set a route and destination code. Lines must be supervised and your set must be allowed to redirect calls. All of these parameters are set up in system programming. Once they are done to forward your phone to your cell you simply dial F4+destination code+phone number.

You are tring to set forward no answer in system programming. It will not accept destination codes... only valid DN's.

This is a complex proceedure with many pitfalls, I suggest as bk has that you hire a vendor to set it up properly
