Hello,

Is it possible to have a DN without a phone be created that when dialed will call another number?

We have 3 locations and we want to hand out an extension to our customers that will call head office and forward the call to the remote location when the extension is entered. We would then absorb the low LD rate which is much cheaper for our HO then the local 800 number at the remote locations.

Any advice is appreciated
Thanks
Matt

2050 soft phones with Keep DN alive checked will do it. You will need IP client seats for each one. Just make sure allow redirect is checked under the set profile and the redirect number is put in exactlhy as you would dial it yourself.

Awesome! thanks. I will try it out and provide an update.

Element manager...

Telephony/active Sets find your DN of choice.

Set "If unaswered after two rings" then punch in your external number including any number required for an outside line.

All of my active sets are in use. I need to either somehow make 2 DN's active that do not have sets and do that or do the Softphone DN as mentioned earlier.

I am trying the softphone now.

OK, I have the DN set to keep alive with the soft phone. I was tying to set the forward all calls on the DN to our remote location.

The problem is that we use 4 digit Long Distance codes. I tried to add a few ### to pause it and then enter my code but it will not do it seemlessly. I get the prompt for my code.

Any ideas? I may revert to their 800 number but that would increase our LD costs.

Thanks
Matt

Frankenherder, ask your LD provider for specific instructions on how to program the access code onto an autodial button. The forward all calls should be set up the same way. Or maybe they will allow calls to just the home office to be dialed without the access code.

Thanks for the advice. I had asked them if they can "whitelist" a few numbers for us but have not heard yet.

Another problem is that we have an IP trunk between 2 of the locations. If you call the one location and enter the DN number it works fine. If you call the other number and enter the DN, it puts you to reception at the other location. I must have to add something at the one location

Regards,
Matt

You said you call the other location and enter the DN. What is answering at the other site, Auto Attendant? AA can only route to phones which have entries in the comapny directory, i.e. have a mailbox assigned and the "enter in company directory" box is ticked.
