Forward calls to external number 1

I am trying to work out how to forward calls coming in on the main external number to a mobile/cell phone in case the building needs to be evacuated for example. When trying to do this the main phone does not ring but line1 lights up as ringing and the call does not get forwarded? The internal extention of the phone is 800 or 0. Ringing 0 internally the call gets forwarded, ringing 800 it doesn't. The above happens. Any ideas on how to do this?

class of service call forward external then make sure the cor of the trunks is permitted to make the call also the ext and trunk need public to public access in class of service

Apologies, typed in a rush earlier.

Its a ICP 3300, Software 7.0.8.5, calls come in on quad bri ISDN. IP5224 phones are in use. I dont know too much about the system, I usually just muddle through. The reception phone has 8 lines associated to the function buttons. The class of service is set to allow external calls for the phone "0". Internally it can be reached via 0 or 800. If forwarding to an internal extension this works when 0 is dialed but not when 0 is dialed. I only seem to be able to configure the phone using 0, 800 doesn't bring up anything.

The phone is put into night service at the end of the day which plays a recorded message and gives the option to leave a voicemail.

When I give my phone the same class of service, I can forward calls externally fine. I am pretty sure the cor for 0 is the same as it is on my phone as well.

800 is probably a hunt group with 8 members that are the keys on the phone.

0 appears to be the prime line of the set and this is why forwarding the set will forward 0.

to forward the hunt group you will need to use the Call Forward third party access code.

The phone that uses the access code needs the COS option third party forwarding allowed.

It is activated by dialing the access code, then DN to be forwarded, then destination of the forward.

The trunk will need COS option for Pulic trunk to Public Trunk enabled and the COR of the trunk must allow external calling.

I've made a few assumptions above so I'll wait to see how you fair up to this point.

Yes 800 is a huntgroup of which the 8 lines are members and 0 is the prime line of the phone. How do I use call forward 3rd party access code? I think I know how to change the CoS of the phone 0 allow this. Is it third party call forward follow me allow/accept options than need to be set to yes?

When you say DN I assume you mean the direct number ie, that would be dialed from outside? And to check the trunk settings I assume I go into sys config > trunks, where from there?
there is DPNSS/DASS2, ISDN-BRI, ISDN-PRI amd T1/D4.

Also I noticed something else yesterday. The phone in question used to have a PKM which has been disconnected for a few weeks, so yesteday a removed it on the system. However when I did this, the ring tone of the phone changed and the caller id was not displayed until the phone is picked up whereas it was previously. I added the PKM back on the system even though it is not physically connected and this has resolved it. Why would this be?

DN = Dialed Number i.e. any number that is dialable on the system.

If the access code is **, the DN is 800, the external number is 9+234-567-8901 the code would be entered:

**80092345678901

I can't explain the caller id issue.

This "Call Forward third party access code" is it call forwarding - follow me - third party under sys admin > system options > feature access code assignment ? At present there is no code assigned.

So... Program one? [ponder]

Yes obviously, I just wanted to clarify that was the setting referred to earlier. Thanks. I'll give it a shot.

Don't worry, think I have had too much jo today. At least its nearly home time. (for me)

Anyway so I set a code for the above option #36 and tried it on my own phone and it worked. I was able to cancel it with call forwarding I am here code **5. Now before I test this in the reception phone 0, and press #36+800+the number will this be how I cancel it on that phone also?

There is a Cancel Call forward 3rd party code that is used to cancel.

Never use I am here unless you want the DN to be forwarded to the station that is activating. I am here is not a cancel code.

There is a cancel code ability for all types of call forwarding.

Cancel All Forwarding
Cancel Call Forwarding - Busy (Ext & Int Source)
Cancel Call Forwarding - End Chaining
Cancel Call Forwarding - No Answer (Ext & Int Source)
Cancel Call Forwarding Follow Me
Cancel Call Forwarding Follow Me - Remote
Cancel Call Forwarding Follow Me - Third Party

I have just tested and it works. I had to set a code for the cancel option. Now that it is working, can it be setup remotely, say we had to leave in a rush? I assume it may be something to do with call forwarding follow me - remote?

No, call forward follow me remote is not what you require.

If you need the ability to do this from off site you need to give the trunk the ability via COS and enable DISA.

CAUTION!! - Using Disa in this fashion exposes your system to Toll Fraud.
-Make sure that when you use DISA, it requires an account code.
- Make sure the system options lock out DISA after failed attempts
- Be particular on who has access. Advise them of the risks and liabilities.
- Set up a system speedcall to dial the digits required to do the forwarding (DO NOT DISTRIBUTE THE FWD'g ACCESS CODE!)
- Restrict your Trunks from dialing out, or failing that at least restrict Long Distance Calling. If you can't restrict your trunks for whatever reason, you are asking for trouble.
- Ask yourself do you really need it before proceeding.
