I can't seem to get this feature to work. I know we have call forwarding with our service provider.

I have an old Merlin System. I set up a forward button. Then I go to enter the dial out code as my manual says and it turns off the forward feature.

I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

What kind of Merlin system?? "Old" does not define it - and there are differences. If you are using Centrex to forward your calls through the phone company - that is different than using your Merlin to forward calls. Doing it through the phone company ties up only one line. Doing it through the Merlin ties up two lines - one for the incomming call - and then a 2nd line to call your cell. The system merely conferences the two lines.

Thanks but I think I was able to finally figure out what was happening. I was able to successfully set up the Forward Follow me option to an outside line.

Ok. Now it just stopped working.

I have a Merlin Legend System. I set up that extension to Remote Forward and Trunk Transfer.

When I first got it set up yesterday afternoon it was working fine and all calls were being transfered to an outside line.

Then right at the end of the day it just started to kick all the calls back to the switchboard.

I came in this morning and everything appeared to be working fine. That phone's screen had the right number to be forwarded to and the forward button light was on.

For some reason, all of the calls are being kicked back to the switchboard. So, I took the forward to off and tried to set it up again.

Now I can't get the forward button to work at all. When I push it is says forward to: I enter the number and nothing happens.

I have no idea what I am doing wrong that the Forward Follow me worked and then it just stopped.

What format are you entering the number in? Are you following the number with a # sign? Is reliable disconnect set to "yes" under lines/trunks?

I just set up the reliable disconnect to yes and tried with # after the number. After I did that it appeared that it is working fine. I haven't had any calls kicked back to me yet.
I am not really sure what you mean by what format am I entering the the number in.

That's what I meant: "9 1 xxx-xxxx #". My guess is the problem was reliable disconnect being set to "no".

Yeah, I was entering "9 xxx-xxx-xxxx" Then I added the # to the end of the number and the forward to stayed on the phone's screen and did not disappear like it was earlier today.

Thanks for the help if I have any more problems I will be asking more questions.

Again Thank you, so much.
