hi

i have excel sheets containing formulae. normally when we select a specific cell the formula it contains is shown in bar. i want to hide that formula. i.e. that formula should not be seen when i select a cell(s).

bye

Anyone who knows a reasonable amount about excel and VBA would be able to find out what is in the cell but, to stop those that don't, I would suggest hiding the column or row and protecting the worksheet.

Alternatively you could write a user defined function in VBA which does the same thing and then lock the VBA module so no one can open it.

Select the cell and do Format / Cells / Protection and check the 'hidden' option.

Now unprotect the rest of the cells and then protect the sheet - voila - Formula will be invisible.
