Please someone help with this formula problem. I have 3 field named: GRADES, HOURS, QUALITY POINTS. In the grades field there are A, B, C, D. I want to make a formula where if GRADES = A then multiply 4 times HOURS and place the result in Quality Points.

B will multiply 3, C will multiplt 2, D will multiply 1

Please someone help me..........

Where are you doing this? In query, Form, or report. and also, what version of Access are u running?

It sounds as if you are trying to earn a grade as well.

I would use a switch like
Hours * Switch(Grades="A", 4, Grades="B", 3, Grades="C", 2, Grades="D", 1)
