Hi,

I have a specific question about using forms with layers.

I can get various types of forms and their objects to link between webpages only when frames are being used. Is it possible to have a non-frame based page/s and use layers instead of frames? Where if you have your drop down menus (forms) in a layer to the left and a second layer to the right and set it up so that the forms link the layer on the right?

I know that this can be used with frames, as I have carried this out before. But the forms don`t seem to work if you have layers on a non-frame page? It`s odd really because as soon as you add a frame to this the layers that did not work, then seem to work ok!

Any clues please.

Thanks Mark

look into "show/hide layer" behavior...just put your form(s) into those layers and hide layers by default then show them with "OnMouse Over" or "OnClick" behavior...whatever look ur after!
All the best!

I can see the layers and the forms that I have created in the layers, that is not a problem. The problem is that when I preview the page everything appears as it is intended, but the forms won`t link to the page - nothing happens at all!! How do I tell the forms links to target the other layer?

Yjanks for your tips :)

u can make 1 form
---form---
layers
layers
....
---/form---
and then submit the whole thing at ones....
post some code or links....depends on overall goal/functio of the site...
All the best!

I think that I am being a bit thick here, because I don`t have a clue what you are talking about. Sorry

<select name="Component Menu" id="Component Menu" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('Layer1[\'Layer2\']',this,0)">

I know that the above is wrong

You could just use javascript to change the values of the second form onChange

what are u trying to do?
do these "shows" of the layer depend on what user select/fill in the 1st form?.....like I said write up more abot flow of this page...

Thanks for your replies, but I worked out how to use some of the code changes, the above works fine although it wasn`t as I intended to use it :)

I was trying to get one link to appear in another layer, instead I have got both layers to link to another page!
