Please help someone, this is driving me mad, I( have developed a web usin FP 2002 on Windows XP Pro. The web is
fine apart from any page that has forms & form fields on it. I first noticed that when I had published the web locallt to my machine
and I viewed any page with forms on it the form would show ok, but just above the form is the following: -

[FrontPage Save Results Component]

when I then hit the submit button for the form the, following page appears: -

FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.

"This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.

Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page."

I discovered from trial and error that if I go into the Server Extensions tab on the IIS panel change every setting, apply the changes, then change every setting back
(it doesnt seem to matter what the settings actually are, I guess it just resets the FP server extensions) then I can view the page and submit fine and it all work.

I know before I hit the submit button it will work be cause the [FrontPage Save Results Component] is not shown at the top of the form.

Then if I make any modifications on pages that have no forms and re publish it still works fine, but as soon as I make any (just text) changes to a page with a form on it and re publish
the whole thing happens again.

The same error occurs when I publish to my ISP (yes i have installed the FP extensions on my webspace there) but absolutely nothing has ever got it to work on the web.

The live url if it helps and there is a form under online booking > secure server.

If anyone has had the patience to read this far I hope you can help please.

Thanx in advance.

Ok firstly, you have to have server extension on the website itself, to do this the easiest way, go to your iis and choose the properties for the site, then choose all and configure server extensions, (If you have FP installed on your server unit)
once you have ran through that you then go through it again and choose check server extensions.

Now to solve the problem with the page, i found that the only way to solve the problem, is to create a brand new page, DO NOT copy and paste, and call it something else.
It is something to do with the page, unfortunately i do not know what it is, but what i have said might help

thanks

I published your form to my site. It is located here

The form looked ok, but I changed the file name. It published to my site after the changes without the Front Page Component message.

If you receive the results, then you could just copy the from or the form HTML from my page and replace your form with it. Save and re-publish.

I have a long work shift ahead of me but I will be back on line in about 12 hours for a bit. My email address should show up as the reply to field. I changed this field as well.

If you publish this form and still get the component message, then I would go to my site control panel and reset the extensions or turn them off, wait a few minutes and turn them back on. Then publish again.
