I have made a form with several subforms in Access 97. The problem is that when i try to type in data in one of the subforms I get the message:

"You can't assign a value to this object.

* The object may be a control in a read-only form
* The object may be on a form that is open in Design view
* The value may be to large for this field"

If I then click ok to this message, I can write data to the fields. The data will be saved to the underlying table, but the data of the child field won't show up in the masterfield.

The two fields are linked, so what is the problem???

I have received this message in the past when the Enabled property was set to No or the Locked property was set to Yes. Check these properties for all fields in question and your subform. ljprodev@yahoo.com
