Hi,

I'm using a report I made (CR XI) that when I introduce a StartDate and a EndDate it shows me the state of a ticket in % (like: in progress, solved, closed,...).

Everytime I try my report, the values of the Pie Chart are put anywhere and I have to put them manualy to have a report aesthetically beautiful.

Is there an option to say that each time I open my Pie Chart it schoud take the formatting of the last save.

Best regards,
André

Have you tried right clicking on the graph and selecting "Apply changes to all Charts"?

This is needed when you change the formatting of a graph that resides in a group header/footer - Crystal allows you to change formatting for one group unless then above option is applied.

I hope this helps you.

Cheers

When I select the Pie Chart and I go to "Chart - Apply changes to all Charts" I can't do it because the option is desable!! How can I enable it?

thanks

an idea how to activate this option????

K regards,
andré

Run the report once to get data - make sure the report returns more than one group for more than one graph - then try and make the Apply changes to all graphs option.

Excuse me but I don't exactly understand what you mean….
What should I do? Do I have to use the Group Expert?...

Thanks,
andré

Hi Andre

What I mean is that in order for the option to be available the graph must be placed in the Group Header/Footer section of a report and the report must return more than one group of this type.

For example - if your report was grouped by Month - then you should get a graph for every month. By changing the formatting of a graph - initially it will only change for the month you are modifying - so if you change May for example - only May's graph will show the changes - the other months will be as before the change - unless you "Apply changes to all Charts".

Hi,

Now I understand what you mean...

I placed my graph in the group header but I get the values for the Pie Chart directly from a database...
I can't use different graph for every month because I need to use just one graph for the date period I enter.
Unfortunatly when the date range is changed the information in the chart overlaps and I need to manually edit the chart to make the information clearer.

I always looking for a solution and if somebody has an idee please let me know...
thanks

Few ideas:

1) Set the Pie Feeler mode to "Stacked". This will put the pie labels in 2 columns, 1 on left of the pie 1 on the right. And there is some primitive logic to keep the labels from overlapping.

2) Try the right-mouse "Auto Arrange" function.

3) Look into CRChart add-in chart library (costs $$) which has much more powerful charting (@AA macro in particular).

Thanks a lot because the option with the "auto range" works...

but where is the option with the Pie Feeler and the library because I don't see them??
