Hello, Thanks for reading this.

One of my HP C360s running under 10.20 needs a low level format. My question is can a low level format be performed on a machine with a single disc drive?

I am going to pull the drive and drop it into another machine so it will have a second drive and I'll be able to do the format on the second drive. Its a work around BUT there has to be a better way than the brute force method.

Hi....

I dont know abt low level formatting, but you can refer man pages of *mediainit* for formatting.

My understanding of the mediainit is that it can/won't do a single dirve in a machine, there has to be at least two (2) disc drives in the machine
