Format Editor - tool tip text option

hello,

i can't figure out why this option does not work in crystal for visual studio 2005. i enter information in the field, click ok, save the changes and preview the report. nothing appears when i hold the mouse over the logo that has the tool tip text. i'm hoping someone can tell me what i'm doing wrong.

Do you mean that you are you entering text in the tool tip text->x+2 area? What do you mean by saying you hold the mouse over the "logo that has the tool tip text"? Are you inserting a graphic and then when you hover over it you are not seeing the inserted tool tip text?

The logo is a graphic. Yes, when I insert a graphic and hover over it. I don't see the tool tip text. I'm entering the text in the tool tip text field on the format editor dialog box.

Sorry, I can't recreate the problem. As long as your selecting the object when you add the tool tip text, it should work.

thank you for trying to recreate the problem that i'm having. when i can't resolve things like this, i chalk it up to something else on my hard drive is interfering with it and i move on (smile).

do you know if business objects has a group of people that will look into things that people say aren't working, as they could be a bug, even though it works for some people.

I've never reported a bug myself, but I would contact BO tech support to report this.

Check that your viewer has 'EnableTooltips' set to true. This wasn't available until XI.
However, I'm not using the VS version - I have developer, so it may be different.
