I created a DB which opens up to a Form I call it (Main Menu). My initial intent was to keep people from gaining acceess to the design view fuction. The problem is that I somehow set it up so that no one can open it in design view. I am using MS Access 97. I thought I would be able to undo easy enough however I can't figure out how to undo it. I can navigate from the "Main Menu to other forms and preview reports, and print, but I cannot access my tables, or queries, or the standard access tabs. I'm locked in to using the form menus I created. How to I get my normal toolbar fuctions back? I want to be to use design view again. Appreciate your help, respectfully Lou Guzman. cw4ranger@hotmail.com

Hold down the Shift Key on your keyboard while opening the db. This should bypass any Startup options you have set.

One of the start up properties is to disallow the shift bypass. If you set this you can get around it (and all the other startup properties) with a utility that I wrote. It is available on my site at "The Key, The Whole Key, and Nothing But The Key, So Help Me Codd!"

Thank you so very much for providing a solution. The "long Tab" key worked great! (Once I was able to figure out how to use it with the password assigned to the DB). I definately need to read a couple of good books. Any recommendations? Lou.
