Form just quit.....

What would cause a form to stop operating? I can't type in the fields or use drop down combos?

Is this a permanent error that reoccurs when you exit the db and go back in or just a single instance of the form stopping working?

Yes, I exit the dbase, go back in and it still does not operate. All other forms are working properly.

Yes, but maybe this would help, the drop down drops, but I cannot make a selection, when I place cursor in fields, fields shade gray and I cannot type.

What are the forms AllowEdits, AllowAdditions etc properties set to?

Yes, query.

Is it an aggregate query or just a basic select query?

Form depends on 5 tables, a select query and a subform.

Are the fields enabled. I had a very strange thing happen recently. The database had been working perfectly, but then somehow I had many of the fields properties change, some fields which were originally set to be hidden appeared, some controls that were enabled were suddenly disabled. It got into a complete mess. Fortunately I had a backup, however shortly afterwards the copy of the backup behaved the same way. As I still had an intact copy, I generated a new empty database, and imported all the forms,queries etc from the copy I had left that I knew was last working but had not reopened. So far it has not failed. Don't know if anyone else has had this or can comment. But I would just check that fields you have are set as they should be. Did it work okay before?, have you checked any changes you may have done thats caused this?

I have not made any changes, and it is only one form as I have many forms in the database that all work properly.

Please nooooooo...not a new form....LOL I have a subform on this form that works properly and command buttons on the form work, it is just the detail section of the form that I cannot enter data or make selections in drop downs.
