I decided to start using my old computer again after about 3 years. I however forgot the password I set on it. I actually downloaded a change password boot disk and it only worked as far as making the GUEST username password blank. I still cant get it to reset the password on the Admin username. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

If you know of another admin account on it you can log on it and change the password. Other than that the only way I know of is reinstalling the os over it. Wait for other suggestions just in case there is another way.

worst comes to worst ill reinstall the os. can u tell me how to do that while i wait for other suggestions?

Just instert the disc and do a repair install, it will install over windows but leave your old files in tact. Just restart with the disc in drive and computer set to boot from cd. It will then load.

Find a friend who's bought Winternals ERD COmmander, and invite him over for a couple of beers! That programme allows you to deal with and change an unknown administrator password.
