Forgotten Password help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,
I have a laptop I let my younger brother see and he changed (well create one) the Administrator password. I had it for 2 weeks now and I can't figure out what it is and the killer thing is I need to upgrade it and give it back so he can do this assignment for his class. The reason that is a killer is because I can not install any programs with out that password because everytime I go to do to installit prompts up with the please enter administrator password to continue.

So is there any way I can get over this and find out what the password is So I can finally change it back or am I just stuck.

I am running windows 2000 on the Laptop and thanx for the reply

Hey thanx for the site but I am having trouble with this rawrite program. I mean like what to do with it.

"The unzipped image (bdxxxxxx.bin) is a block-to-block representation of the actual floppy, and the file cannot simply be copied to the floppy. Special tools must be used to write it block by block. For Dos, win95/98 & NT, use rawrite2.exe or some other imagewriter:

rawrite2 -f bd??????.bin -d A:
Replace ?????? with version number. "

I mean I dont know what they mean by version number, because everytime I type something in there nothing happens it just closes the program.

So I just need to figure out how to use it then maybe I can get the rest of this stuff to work.

Hello,

Download the two files rawrite2.zip and bd030426.zip.
Next, extract the contents of each zip file into a folder, you should get two files:
rawrite2.exe
and
bd030426.zip

Next, open the command line (start -> run cmd.exe if on NT/2K/XP; start -> run dosprmpt.pif if on 95/98/Me)

change to the folder with
cd \foldername <enter>

A test to check that you are right is if you type
dir <return>

you should get a list of the two zip files and the two extracted files.
Then, put a blank floppy in drive a: and type the following command at the prompt:

rawrite2 -f bd030426.bin -d a: <enter>

and follow the instructions.
Then, boot your PC from the disk.

I followed what you said but this is what I got.

I dont know if I did it wrong or what but I thank you for your help and I will continue to try this but I just dont know. I am getting so frustrated! Sorry about the whine session lol.

What I did with this was to download the file. It is an image, then go to your cd burning program and don't drag and drop files to burn, but select to burn an image, I think it said iso image or something of that nature. I think that is what you get when you unzip. Anyway, it is an image burned to cd. Then just boot to cd and follow the directions. I have used it many times, and it always has worked. Let me know if you need further info or help. I made a few errors at first with the download and burn myself. But finally, figured out that you are gonna burn an image.
