Hello,
Currently we are using Seagate Info 7 and have it setup using NT Authintication. We have been running this for over 18 months and the problem is I have forgotten what the Administrator password is.

Is there a way to change this password or find out what it is? I really need to find out so I can migrate to Enterprise 8.5 using the migration tool.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Patrick.

If you are using NT Authintication and you are an administrator in the NT system, then just reset the password. If you are not an admin., contact your NT admin and ask that person to reset the password or tell you what it is. We did not use NT Authintication in our setup. I am in as an Admin for the desktop. I hope this helps you. Good luck.

No one in my company knows our administrator password for Crystal. As far as I can tell, Crystall wasn't set up with NT Authentication because I get an ASP error when I try to log in using NT Auth. Any idea how I can either clear out the administrator password in Crystal or find out what it is?

If you are not using NT Authentication you can find the password string in the CINFO.MDB database. It is however encrypted somehow.

If you can find out what kind of encryption is used to encrpyt the string you should then be able to un-encrypt it and find the password. I do not imagine they have gone to great lengths for this encrpytion and are probably using a standard type of encryption. Just try as many as can until a likley looking password pops out.

In the CI_USERS table in the CINFO database, change the value of CI_PASSWORD to 'NULL' where CI_USERID = 'Administrator'

This will blank out the password for the admin account. Now log into Info Administrator and change the Administrator password to something memorable.
