HELP!

I’ve done the most unbelievable in the world, I’ve lost my admin password.

I have a W2k3 application server (Since it’s an application server, I can’t logon local at the server) The server is also a domain controller. The other server in the network server is a Citrix Metaframe server.

If any one can tell med how to reset the password or logon local I'll be very grateful. All other solutions are also welcome.

I really hope someone can take the challenge and help me!
I can assure you all: This is my server!

You can buy a CD from somewhere that you can boot up from and it will tell you the admin password. try searching "recover lost passwords" in google or something.

Hope this helps

I know of a site that you can download a linux app that will allow you to edit the registry and reset lost passwords. I'm not about to advertise it here, because as a Network Admin, I would go crazy if someone got a hold of something like this. It really does work though, I've used it on a couple of workstations with lost passwords. Do a Google search for NT password recovery disk. It works on NT 2k, and XP. I've not tried in on 2k3 server yet. Good luck.

Thank you both for you answers.
I though this Linux app only reset the local passwords, not a domaine password. Am I wrong?

Please look at FAQ96-2866 under the Windows 2000 server forum. This is a clllection of the answers from queries similar to yours. If you find something that is not in that list, please let me know and I will add it.
