Hi there,

Please forgive my complete lack of knowledge in this area. As I understand it, a single letter in a postscript font constitutes of one or more cubic splines with a number of control points, the shape of the spline contolled by beziers. So technically each spline can be described in terms of a mathematical equation. I'm trying to determine what that equation is for any given letterform. Any advice on how I might go about doing this would be grately appreciated.

Many thanks,

Matthew

Also alternatively, if anyone can describe how I can capture the specific postscript code relating to an individual letterform in a particular font, that would also be extremely helpful.

Many thanks,

Matthew

Glyphs are defined in a subset of PostScript called the Type1 Font Language. There is a way to get the "code" for a specific character (glyph) out of a PostScript Type 1 font... let me dig through some code when I get back to my office next week, and I'll post it.
