In Crystal view, my details section is kept together, but when I export it to rtf format, the detail is broken up at the end of the page and continues on the next page. If I explicitly check page break after for a certain group, rtf reflects this by page breaking after that group. But I want rtf to page break whenever at the end of page without segmenting the details. Is there a formula I can enter for page break where, if detail will not fit the page, then page break before? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

You can try the Section property "keep together" for the details section. See the section expert in Format-Section.

This will work in CR preview, but I am not confident that this will work in RTF, since RTF doesn't have a details 'section'. Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

The keep together section is set in crystal but it does not register in rtf. Seems as though the only way I can get a page break in rtf is if I explicitly page break in crystal. I need a way to force a page break in crystal at the end of a page so it would show in rtf format.

If the details keep together in CR preview, but don't in RTF, then I don't think you have any other options. Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

None of the export file formats will support the Keep section together feature in any version of Crystal Reports. Most (including RTF) support the Keep Group together however, so I suppose you could modify your report so that you actually have your details section in a group, and format that group to Keep Group Together. Malcolm, I tried 'keep group together option' and the report still didn't keep group together in rtf format even though it was correctly kept together in crystal viewer format. I'm accepting the fact that there's only so much I can do with crystal export features. I appreciate your replies though, Kenhamady and MalcolmW. Thank you.
