I have a Merlin Magix 1.5 v6 that has a red light on processor and an error code of 0001. I have not rebooted system as I am concerned about loosing programing. before reboot I would like to force a back up. How do I force a back up of system from admin phone?
Thanks

Well, before you do any FORCED BACK UP, do this:

Menu > Maintenance > System > Error Log > Permanent > and then DROP all of them, and then back up and do the same to TRANSIENT ERRORS.

That should make your light go out.

NO - YOU DO NOT NEED TO POWER DOWN -

To do a Back Up, go to MENU > System Program > Start > SYSTEM > Back Restore and choose a BACK UP LOCATION on the LEFT SIDE of the Screen >

Most likely errors are 1) E11 service not programmed and 2) Auto Backup Card not inserted. Check the error log for these, and light will go out.

Thank you, I'll give that a try.

Another question, I believe I saw an error regarding auto backup card not inserted but there is a mem card in system. What could be the problem? Bad card? Should I re-seat the card?

I am moving the phone system at the end of the week and concerned that the system will loose programing. Apparently the system was moved last year by a telecom vendor and the system lost all programing. How can I test the me card? What steps do you recommend I take to ensure a successful move?

Thanks

Try forcing a backup onto the card before you move. Label each card so you put back in the same place as before. On a move, numbering and order are everything. Have the location of each line and phone noted so you know where who is on your system.

So. I went into system and error logs but I don't see an option to drop or clear the errors. How do I drop the errors? Thanks

Thanks for the info and please excuse my ignorance but I do not have adrop option on the 4424ld+ phone. Do I need to program a drop button? Will it be an issue if I can not clear errors prior to the move?

0001 TIMEOUT COLD START
System programing OK
no action required ;if problem persists ,troubleshoot the processor
use the buttom just above the hold for drop in programing labled DROP

4424 sets do not come with a "Built in" drop button.

So yes, you gotta' add one.
