Force a call with "forward unconditional" turned on.

I have a customer that has the president of the co setup with forward unconditional turned on. This is setup so that all did's pointing to him and all internal calls to him get forwarded to his cell.
They have a door phone which I would like to override the forward unconditional setting and ring his desk. Is there any way to do this?

The way to do it if you have VM Pro of course, is to create a call flow in his leave action to forward calls to his cell, then add the door phone to his DND exceptions list. When he presses DND anyone other than the door phone will get his cell phone

What does the doorphone do? ring a group? or just him?

Can you get the doorphone to ring a group and make sure that forward hunt group calls is un ticked

His phone wont ring if he's forwarded.

Don't know if you could use bridge apparence somehow.

You can use the shortcode feature "Dial Physical Extension by Number" in the door phones user shortcodes and set it to dial his extension that will force it to ring regardless of any forwarding etc

The door phone rings a group. He is using forward unconditional because he also wants his internal calls forwarded as well as other hunt group calls. This one extension would have to override the forward unconditional.

So if he isnt at his desk, why does he need the doorphone to ring his desk?

amriddle, how about this. you say use the dial physical extension by number. How i have it now is "?D" it rings extension "306" which is a "door phone" hunt group.
Can I also add "?D" "dial physical extension" 101 in the short codes section and have it do both?

Is this a rotary or sequential group then? Do you have VM pro? You can do this but it will tie up a VM port until the call is answered

Yes on the VMPRO and HG is set collective
Not a problem on VM ports because there is plenty to spare

Only possible with sequential/rotary I'm afraid, basically you would set the VM to do supervised transfers to each user in turn then when it reaches him transfer to the "Dial by physical Extn" shrotcode, effectivly emulating the group. You can't do it with collective unless ditch the VM thing and ring all the others overflow to another group containing a virtual/phantom user that is set to forward unconditional to the "Dial by physical Extn" shortcode

Damn, I think my answer to them will be "cant be done" but i will play with the vm pro and try some type of bridge appearance and post back with the verdict.
