Everyone says to get a 600 Ohm resistor and throw it across the tip and ring which is correct but there is an easier fix that I found hilariously..
If you work with the CM, Definity, Prologix; they usually come with or have those Music on Hold boxes (built in 600 ohm resistor). Use that and plug the source into the regulated port and the other end into the station port of the IPO and it will work better than trying to splice the cable.
Trust me, this works so well and its great for the Bogens and Valcoms.
This makes cabling and dressing up cables so much easier and nicer. No more beads and inline splices sticking out! Again just use a Music on Hold box that comes with the other Avaya systems.
