Footer - change causing unwanted footer location changes

Hi, (please note I am not very experienced) I have an index page footer which puts ads in a column down the left hand side of the page. I am trying to move the position of one of the ads from 6th one down to 2nd one down, but when I do so through just cutting and pasting the html for that ad to its new position, it changes the structure so that the ads are in a column at the bottom of the page instead of running down the left side. What my instinct is telling me is that there must be another file somewhere which defines the structure of the page and that when I change the footer file I should also change that. Am I on the right track?

Using Microsoft Word to create HTML documents, i'd have to say No! It's over-complicated rubbish that it has created for you and will only make it harder for beginners to understand.

I'd suggest starting from scratch with the tutorials from:

Hi, I didnt design the page, I am just trying to make a change, but I did end up solving my problem my editing the page in Dreamweaver instead of word, so thanks for the assistance.
