Hi folks, had a strange one this week. We received word docs from client for a proposal.(don't know version of word) We run Word97 with all updates, Win98se. The files look, print fine...Until making a PDF. The files then look as if a foreign alphabet was substituted. Other files created on that machine PDFs just fine. The odd documents PDF'd fine from 2 different machines(word97/WinSE and word2000/Win2000). When looking at the fonts list in Acrobat that appear in the wierd PDF, it says ArialMT~27 or TimeNewRomanPS-Ita for 2 examples. And there are a LOT of fonts listed. In the normal PDF of the wierd Doc, the fonts listed are typical like Arial, Symbol, TimesNewRoman.
Has anyone ever seen this? I am thinking that our guys fonts are screwed up, or someone may have selected foreign language, font support or something

Try embedding all fonts when you write the pdf.

Thanks, I will try that. I still have to get to the machine that created the odd PDFs and won't be able to until next week when he is on vacation. I am pretty sure that it is all about fonts. Thanks for giving me a direction
