Trying to install fonts from a Zip Disk onto Mac for use with Illustrator, Photoshop, & Quark. I've dragged the fonts to the Systems Folder as well as directly to the Fonts Folder (as suggested by Help). When many fonts are dragged to the Systems Foler they do not appear in any of my applications including simple text. I tried to drag individual fonts to the fonts folder which seemed to work with a few. When I try to use some of these new fonts in Illustrator, I'm told that the font outlines are missing and the fonts will not print. How am I suppose to load 300 fonts? Any ideas?

In the system folder you will see a folder called Application Support inside this folder are several others one of them is called fonts or Adobe and then fonts. I place all my art fonts here. They will show up in adobe programs. When loading fonts check your font folder for postscript fonts you need both a printer and screen font. There should be two in the folder. For true type you only need the one font. Most true type are identifed with three AAA on the icon. Postscript is usally two AA. Hope this helps. Roxie

hello doglegg;<br>
here's the deal, you really should get yourself a font manager such as MasterJuggler. If your going to put things in your system folder like fonts your asking for worries that you dont want to deal with. Font manager software is fairly cheap. It allows you to have your fonts anywhere you want...desktop, loose in hard drive, wherever and you dont have to go screwing with your system. The reason you dont get to print certain fonts is because you haven't obtained the complete set. You need to make sure you get the whole bundle of that font but i definately recomend a font manager. the best part of it is if you want to load fonts while working you dont have to quit the application or anything. good luck my loose legged friend.
