I've just bought my new hp computer last month and I've scanned all of my files with my McAfee Virus. It found FondleWindow.exe as a potentially unwanted program and I've quarantined it until further action. Now, the way I see it, I think it comes with the HP computer but if not, should I delete it or not? And what is FondleWindow.exe, if anybody knows? Thanks in Advance!!

I've just discovered the same file and was trying to find out what it was when I stumbled onto your post. I also havae a new HP computer and all of a sudden after a week of no problems, I am unable to download anything. Are you having anything like this happening?

Evidently, it's something that HP sends with it's computers called "Back Web". That's all the information I've found on it so far.

It, along with some other "questionable" apps, are part of Back Web. From what I understand it is kind of like SMS. It is used to push apps to PCs whether they are logged on to the internet or not. Of course, HP does not recommend uninstalling Back Web, but personally I would remove it in a heartbeat.

Speaking of HP, when will they stop putting CRAP on their PCs. I bought a HP once...ONCE. Build your own PCs people. It is easier in the long run.

-If it ain't broke, break it and make it better.

For your information, I've already deleted FondleWindow.exe earlier and I've also recently deleted backweb with my spybot. My computer is still working just fine as far as I know. I'm running my spybot and adware on a weekly basis with my Mcaffee Virus. I encourage you do the same!!

Download problems?

Check any error logs in this folder first then try cleaning out your Temporary Internet Files and other Temp files by running the Disk Cleanup tool. Manually check that temp files in this folder are removed too.

C:\Documents and Settings\UserNamexxxx\Local Settings\Temp (a hidden folder, so set the appropriate views).
