For unknown reasons to me my folders that I created in my email has disapeared.I can log on to the email server and do the LS commmand for my paticular directory and can see that the folders are indeed there on the server but why do they not show up when I bring up my email on my desktop? I know they were showing at one time.Any clues??

Thank you
Sher

You can't do that. The folders are only created and used by your e-mail client. When you request your mail from your mail server, the POP3 server looks in /var/spool/mail/username (username is a user on your system). If the username and password match and the file is not empty, it gets sent to your client. From there it gets put into the different folders (usually Inbox).

... unless you are using IMAP instead of POP3, which has support for folders. //Daniel

This is a imap server. And as I said in my previous post, my folders that I created from my workstation were there and still are on the mail server.

Thank you
