Folder starts at windows startup!

First, just to be sure....
Go to Start, Run, type MSCONFIG and hit okay. Once there, click on Selective Startup and disable all startup items. Restart. If the issue goes away, then go back in and allow things to start until it comes back. The last thing you allowed to start is your culprit.
If that does not work, then we look at other things. I have seen, for instance, many systems that had software that was deleted (not uninstalled properly). As a result, the system was trying to 'call' portions of that software, and after not finding it, the operating system just brought up the folder it was looking through. It is annoying, but simply deleting that folder fixed it.
I know that you said that you did not want to delete the folder, so just rename it. If you rename it, it might stop popping up.... If you rename it, then you can always rename it back it trouble occurs--so write down its name before you change it!
If these don't work, then please provide more info (what folder is popping up/is it the same folder as on your friend's machine/if so, did you both just install or uninstall the same software/have you run an anti-virus on it).

ok...i diddnt want to say the real name because i asked this before (without gettin help) adn someone said i should delete it...
i have the swedish version of windows and its the folder program that starts but if i would have had the english version it wold have been program files!
but iäll test the other ideas..

Ok...i took them away 1 by 1 and after taking away autostart it went away (like every other program too exept antivirus 
)
i looked at the autostart tab to see what it could be but i found nothing...
i recogniced my antivirusprogram my mouse drivers and some windows things but nothing that seemed to relate to my problem...
i've only had this problem in win 98 and the same with my friend and we both got it almost exactly after reinstalling windows (or updating from 95)
the only thing our compters have in common is msn messenger and norton antivirus (and like is said earlier: win 98)
hope that will help u solve my problem...thx for any help u (or anyone else) can give me!

Click on msconfig, go to the start up tab and select remove the checkmarks from what you dont not to start. Make sure to leave systray.
Also, as a precaution, click on the win.ini tab and expand the windows section, remove the checkmarks beside load= and run =.
If that doesnt work, right-click on the start button, click explore, and browse to the startup tab within programs, remove or delete anything in here and see what happens.
If that doesnt work, click on run and type in regedit. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/ look for the run and runonce keys. Be careful here, delete key you think may be the offending one. If you not sure, post the entries here and Ill let you know.
Hopefully you have to go that far.
