I'm running a Windows 2000 domain off my server, and I've got student accounts setup with a home directory and hand-in directory for work. I was wondering if it's possible to make the hand-in directory writable, but not readable. I need students to be able to transfer their work to the server, and not be able to delete others' work, or steal it.

I wouldn't recommend this method, partly due to the fact that you cannot list without reading anyway and anyhow, it runs the risk of students overwriting someone else's work if the same filename was to be used. Equally, students could potentially save their work under someone else's name (if you told them to use their name for saving). Fraught with issues even if it were possible - which it is not).

Why not a given email account or a VLE (or similar) facility?
