does anybody know how to change a folder icon? and it will work on older versions of windows too?

You could dl this utility, works w/ win9x and 2000. Or create a shortcut to the folder, r-click on the shortcut and choose properties, then the change icon button at the bottom of the properties page. This is one way, I'm sure there are others.

what sort of file does it have to be, jpeg, tiff, pict?
