Hi,
I want to exclude a folder from being backed up since there are open files in it and we don't have the open files agent.
My plan is to:
1. Modify the job
2. Select filters
3. Choose "Exclude - Directories - F:\Groups\Defects"

Is this the right way if I want to exclude the folder "Defects"

Thanks!

Regards,

If a backup comes across open files without the open file agent, it just skips the files and logs a warning letting you know it couldn't back it up. You might want to leave the folder included so it will back up the files if they aren't open sometimes.

The issue here is that the backup is showing as "Incompete" and since we are sending out a report every day to IT management they want it to be finished. The files that are open are some database files that they will backup manually every morning until we get the open files agent (if we ever do)

I've checked filter usage through several different versions. Best thing is the just check the online help.

I've tried to use exlusions for whole directories but I'm not having any luck. (I'm using Arcserve 2000)
My situation is similar, I have a directory full of Workstation Images that I don't want to backup on a daily basis so I just excluded the directory - but it is still getting backed up.

I've specified the exclude as "D:\Shared\Admin\Ghost".

Do I need to use *.* of something at the end of it or what?

Svend.
