Trying to get a Fax Over IP server setup to work with a CS1000E, having issues with inbound calls. DCH traces show no circ/channel avail and you get a re-order tone. Any thought's would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

whats the brand of the fax server I might have a couple of docs so i can troll through them... Have you got fax T.38enabled on the node, ie configure the sig server?

can you make outbound fax calls?

2 DSC's for outbound userend point and gateway endpoint

You need a gateway endpoint on the NRS

static ip entry for your fax server in getway enpoint.

userend points, fax extensions

Make sure you can ping between the sig server/call server and the fax server

all you sip trunks are idle and register?

Yes, to all but your last questions. We're having difficulties with the SIP and the NRS they are not wanting to play nicely with each other. The EM shows the SIPNPM in standby as well as the virtual trunks being in standby. SubM is loaded on the main or Primary UCM server and the NRS is loaded on the follower or backup UCM as they both cannot reside on the same server. The thinking is that there is an issue with the follower. Thanks for the quick response.

I had a similar issue, disabled the virtual trunks on the standy sig server and mine fax issue worked.

also if you fax server is working for outbound, check the setup the make sure the inbound is the same as the outboud because you know outbound works.....

so whats the name of the fax server?

I will give that a try in the AM as far as restarting the virtual trunks. The server name is FOIPSERVER, that is what is listed as the name in the NRS. I believe that it is also a virtual fax server.

sorry is that the brandname? I had a problem with equisys fax server, which was a dialogic server really, when the problem went to high level support

I am not certain of the current fax server/software they are using but i can find out. I do know they are using brooktrout sr140 boards though as i have the white paper for the card.

yes the same as what i was working with sr140...

you seem to have everything configured correctly.

on the route you have IOOG (incoming and outgoing) to IOA?

Can you make a normal SIP call, ie phone to phone inbound on that route?

We believe that we have figured out the issue. The SIP Proxy Server on the signaling server is in standby as are the trunks. We have to do some reconfig now that we have Subscriber Mgr running on the Primary UCM and the NRS running on the backup. We need to tell the follower signaling server that it is the leader and the leader signaling server that it is the follower basically reversing roles so as to let the NRS and SIP Proxy go into service on the Backup UCM server. It is looking for an NRS on a Leader server.(Backup UCM server) Note that we are running COTS server on RLS 6.0 linux. Thanks again for your quick response.

Yes my only option was to disable the Trunks on the standby, so the trunks registered with Primary again, the customer would not allow down time :) glad you fixed the issue.
